Thrash metal genre was shaped by milestones like ‘Kill em all’, ‘Bonded by blood’, ’The Legacy’ among many others, such statements globally pierced all metal fans' ears with great joy. Many younger thrash bands followed with relative success, however one sure thing is very few can still claim of existing as no clone, churning out such freshness, dynamics with as much vigor and conviction as Barcelona’s CRISIX. 
 
Having been honing their sound since 2008, filing it with their trademarked musical tricks, CRISIX have given a thoughtful, brutally updated treatment to the much appreciated and legendary ‘old school’ or gloriously ’vintage’ thrash metal style, added hot spice and cooked an insane scorching guitar driven extravaganza . Always on the frontline for delivering incisive, uncompromising moshing madness live, the band has become a touring machine, rampaging European clubs and festivals with incredible enthusiasm, intensity and precision. 
 
Kicking out with the raging ‘Get out of head’ , CRISIX ' new album ‘Against the odds’ demands listener continuous activity and is exemplified by a devastating formula of power thrash bordering on hardcore in some places, capturing attention all along. Lyrically drawing influences from a wide range of subjects from Ridley Scott eternal ‘ Aliens’ in ‘Xenomorph blood’ , George R.R. Martin ’s world as described in ‘The North remembers’, sitting aside with Akira Toriyama ’s Dragon ball character in ‘ Prince of Saiyans’. Fun and madness that is !. 
 
‘Against the Odds’ was recorded by the band themselves during November/ December 2018 at Axtudios, Barcelona, mixed by Oscar AX, and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden. (Arch Enemy, Bloodbath, Kreator..) 
 
While unleashing one meaty riff after another with great velocity and refinement, 'Against the odds' successfully recaptures a more innocent age in thrash. 
A fantastic escapism indeed.
